Is it recommended to apply SAKRETE High Strength Anchor Epoxy for ceiling uses?

It is not recommended for any application where there may be a sustained tensile load, including overhead applications.

How many days should concrete be placed before using SAKRETE High Strength Anchor Epoxy for anchoring work?

For anchoring applications, concrete should be a minimum of 21 days old prior to anchor installation.

Does the SAKRETE High Strength Anchor Epoxy adhere to polyethylene?

No, it does not adhere to PTFE, polyethylene, or polypropylene.

What is the yield of the SAKRETE High Strength Anchor Epoxy?

  • 6 holes when anchor diameter is 1.6 cm (⅝ in), hole diameter is 1.9 cm (¾ in) and hole depth is 14.3 cm (5⅝ in)

NOTE: Hole diameter should be 0.3 cm (⅛ in) larger than the anchor diameter and the hole depth should be a minimum of 9 times the anchor diameter.

What is the curing time of SAKRETE High Strength Anchor Epoxy?

Cure time to ultimate hardness is 24 hours. Also, the actual cure time is affected by temperature and product amount used: higher temperatures and larger volumes of material used cure faster.

When applying the SAKRETE High Strength Anchor Epoxy, the diameter and depth of the hole must be larger than the anchor diameter by at least how much?

Hole diameter should be 0.3 cm (⅛in) larger than the anchor diameter and the hole depth should be a minimum of 9 times the anchor diameter.

What are the application steps of SAKRETE High Strength Anchor Epoxy?
  1. For best results, use a caulking gun with a minimum 12:1 mechanical power. Inexpensive guns will not push the material through the nozzle.
  2. Load the cartridge assembly into a caulking gun.
  3. Unscrew the cartridge cap and remove the nozzle plug.
  4. Attach the static mixer nozzle. Dispense mixed paste to waste until a uniform colour is achieved (at least 5 mL) and then directly onto the work surface or into the precleaned hole.
  5. When filling holes, start from the back; be careful not to leave any air pockets or voids while filling. Use the mixed paste within 20 minutes or insert the bolt into the filled hole within 5 minutes of application.
How to prepare the surface before applying SAKRETE High Strength Anchoring Epoxy?
  1. To achieve optimum performance, surfaces and holes should be dust-free and cleaned of all surface contaminants, such as grease, oil, water, or dirt.
  2. Scuffing, wire brushing or sanding the surface prior to cleaning helps ensure a good bond. Care should be taken to remove all loose debris from the drilled hole using a suitable blower or vacuum before applying.
