Parging or coating above-grade ICF walls, to protect EPS from weathering and UV degradation.
Mix and substrate temperatures should be maintained between 5 °C (40 °F) and 30 °C (86 °F) for at least 24 hours prior to and 48 hours after application. Avoid applying SAKRETE ICF 5000 in direct sunlight or when winds exceed 25 km/hour (15 mph). Protect from precipitation for 24 hours after application.
Mixing: Add 3.7 L (0.98 US gallons) to 3.9 L (1.03 US gallons) of cool, potable water into a clean mixing container. Slowly empty the 22.7 KG (50 lb) bag of SAKRETE ICF 5000 into the container while mixing with a heavy-duty, 13 mm (1/2”), electric drill and mixing paddle. After all of the powder has been added, thoroughly mix the material for 3 minutes.
Placing: Apply a 3 mm (1/8”) coat of SAKRETE ICF 5000 using a stainless steel trowel, directly to the ICF wall. Immediately embed alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh into the first coat, ensuring that the mesh joints overlap by a minimum of 65 mm (2½”) and that the mesh is doubled at all corners as well as corners of openings (e.g. windows and doors). Apply additional 3 mm (1/8”) coats of SAKRETE ICF 5000 as needed, in order to completely cover and embed the fiberglass mesh, up to a maximum total thickness of 9 mm (3/8″)*.
Finishing: For a smooth surface, use a stainless steel, wood, aluminum or magnesium trowel. For a textured surface, use a broom, brush or dry sponge.
Under most conditions, SAKRETE ICF 5000 requires no special curing. Protect the surface of SAKRETE ICF 5000 with plastic if precipitation or winds in excess of 25 km/hour (15 mph) are expected within 24 hours after application. Mix and substrate temperatures should be maintained between 5 °C (40 °F) and 30 °C (86 °F) for at least 24 hours prior to and 48 hours after application.

Material should be stored in a dry, covered area, protected from the elements. Unopened bags have a shelf life of 12 months.

Inhalation

Skin Contact
Rinse with lukewarm, gently flowing water for 5 minutes. Take off immediately contaminated clothing, shoes and leather goods (e.g. watchbands, belts). Eye Contact

STOT (Specific Target Organ Toxicity) – Repeated Exposure
