Type N Masonry Cement
Masonry Cement is prepackaged cement with ingredients to provide the plasticity required for masonry work. Masonry Cements are available as either Type N Masonry Cement or Type S Masonry Cement.

Usage
- Type N Masonry Mortar is recommended for general use in non-load-bearing walls, as well as in exterior veneer walls not requiring high strength.
- Type N Masonry Cement or Type S Masonry Cement can also be used in parging and stucco work. DO NOT use masonry cements for concrete jobs.

FAQ
Using the suggested proportions, one (1) bag of masonry cement is required to lay 35 to 40 blocks, or 135 bricks, approximately.
Concrete must be fully cured (approximately 28 days) and dry before painting. Refer to paint manufacturer directions for application instructions.
Masonry cements are mixed with sand in the following proportions (by volume).
- 1 part Type N or Type S Masonry Cement
- 3 parts damp, loose, brick sand
Mix the cement and sand. Add water until the mortar is of suitable “buttery” consistency.
Type N Masonry Cement is recommended for general use in non-load-bearing walls, as well as in exterior veneer walls not requiring high strength. While the Type S Masonry Cement is recommended for use in all masonry below grade, as well as in exterior load-bearing walls requiring high strength.
Also, the Type N Masonry Cement or Type S Masonry Cement can also be used in parging and stucco work. DO NOT use masonry cements for concrete jobs.
Mix and substrate temperatures should be maintained between +5 °C and +30 °C (40 °F and 86 °F) for at least 24 hours prior to and 48 hours after.
